Agents
Your agents, set up in a minute.
Vesper can summarize what you select and let coding agents browse for you. Everything is off until you turn it on, each agent asks for your approval, and Stop ends them all at once.

The assistant
The built-in assistant summarizes the text you select, with its sources. It runs on free AI models through OpenRouter, so it costs you nothing. The first time you open Vesper (or after you update), the setup shows you each step. You can open it again any time from the AI panel.
- Press Connect with OpenRouter. Vesper opens OpenRouter's sign-in page in a new tab.
- Sign in, or create a free OpenRouter account. You type your details on OpenRouter's own page; Vesper never sees your password.
- Approve access. OpenRouter gives Vesper a key that belongs to you. Vesper keeps it in the Windows Credential Manager. You never copy or paste it, and it is never shown on screen.
- Try it. Select text on any page, right-click and choose Summarize with the assistant.
About OpenRouter
OpenRouter is a service that gives one access point to many AI models, including free ones. Vesper uses only free models in this version, so your OpenRouter account is never charged.
- What is sent: only the text you selected and the page address, when you ask for a summary. Nothing is sent in the background.
- Data use: by default Vesper asks OpenRouter to use only providers that do not keep or train on your text. Fewer free models may then be available; you can change this in the AI panel. OpenRouter's own privacy policy applies to what you send.
- Your key: it is labelled “Vesper browser” in your OpenRouter account. You can remove it in the AI panel (Remove key) or delete it on openrouter.ai/settings/keys.
- Already have a key? In the AI panel, choose Add key. A Windows window asks for it.
Claude Code
Claude Code can open pages, read them and act in Vesper while you watch. It uses your own Claude account; Vesper asks for no API key.
- Turn on agent connections in the setup, or in the AI panel › Agents.
- Add Vesper to Claude Code. The setup shows the exact command with the path on your computer and a Copy button. It looks like this:claude mcp add vesper -- "C:\Users\you\AppData\Local\Programs\Vesper\vesper-mcp.exe"
- Ask Claude Code to open a page in Vesper. Vesper asks you how much it may do: read only, control its own tabs (a separate profile, without your logins), or control your tabs.
Don't have Claude Code yet? See anthropic.com/claude-code.
Codex
- Turn on agent connections in the setup, or in the AI panel › Agents.
- Add Vesper to Codex with the command the setup shows, for example:codex mcp add vesper -- "C:\Users\you\AppData\Local\Programs\Vesper\vesper-mcp.exe"
- Ask Codex to use Vesper. You approve its access the same way.
Other MCP clients work too: point them at the same program. Codex documentation: developers.openai.com/codex.
You stay in charge
- Before a click or Enter that looks like sending, buying, paying, deleting or publishing, Vesper asks you.
- Take over pauses every agent; Stop revokes them all.
- Vesper never solves CAPTCHAs or bot checks. When an agent meets one, or a login, a code or a payment, it hands the step to you.
- Web pages are treated as information, never as instructions for the agent.
Help
- The OpenRouter tab closed before I finished. Press Connect with OpenRouter again. Each attempt is new; an unfinished one expires after ten minutes.
- Signing in with Google doesn't work in that tab. Use OpenRouter's email or GitHub sign-in instead, or create the key on openrouter.ai and choose Add key.
- “No free model is available right now.” Free models are busy at times. Try again in a minute, or allow providers that may keep data (AI panel).
- My agent doesn't connect. Check that agent connections are on and that you used the command shown in your own Vesper (the path differs per computer). Restart the agent after adding Vesper.
